Na diverse jaren in Nederlandse loondienst kiest Anouska voor een Deens wieleravontuur. Vanaf 1 januari 2019 komt zij uit voor Team Virtu. De Westereense treft bij deze ploeg haar oud-ploeggenote Mieke Kröger.
Deens avontuur
Anouska vond dat het tijd was voor een buitenlands avontuur en koos voor het Deense Team Virtu. De ploeg rijdt een vergelijkbaar programma met haar huidige ploeg WaowDeals Pro Cycling, maar er gaat voor de Friezin wel wat veranderen “Nieuwe ploeggenotes, andere cultuur, andere manier van werken. Het is de uitdaging en nieuwe prikkel die ik denk nodig te hebben voor de volgende stap in mijn loopbaan. Mijn gevoel met dit team is heel goed. De ploeg is internationaal getint en dat trekt me ook aan, vooral omdat ik tot dusver altijd in een Nederlandse omgeving heb gewerkt. Binnen de ploeg tref ik Mieke Kröger, die ik nog ken vanuit mijn tijd bij Futurumshop. De ploegleiding geeft mij veel vertrouwen en zelf heb ik ook veel vertrouwen in ploegleidster Carmen Small en het hele team. Ik kijk erg uit naar deze nieuwe samenwerking.”
Nederlandse start
Anouska begon haar wielerloopbaan bij WV Otto Ebbens. Na haar juniorentijd trok ze naar Boels-Dolmans, om vervolgens 2 jaar voor Futurumshop.nl uit te komen. “Ik kreeg toen de kans om voor Rabo-Liv (later WM3 Energie en WaowDeals) te gaan rijden, dat was de stap waar ik op dat moment naar verlangde. Ik kreeg de kans om te groeien en deel uit te maken van een van de beste teams in het vrouwenpeloton. Ik probeerde zoveel mogelijk te leren van alle toprensters. Na 4 jaar bij deze ploeg ben ik toe aan een nieuwe uitdaging. Natuurlijk ben ik mijn huidige ploeg erg dankbaar voor alle mogelijkheden die ik heb gehad en alle ervaring die ik heb opgedaan”, besloot Anouska.
New adventure for Anouska Koster
After several years riding for Dutch squads, Anouska Koster will ride for the Danish Team Virtu in 2019. The Dutch rider catches up with her former team mate Mieke Kröger.
Danish adventure
Koster was ready for a new cycling adventure and chose to ride for Team Virtu. The team is riding a similar programm as her current team WaowDeals Pro Cycling, but there will be some changes for the Dutch rider. “New team mates, other culture and other work methods. It is a new challenge and impulse which I think I need for the next step in my career. My feeling with this team is very good. Virtu is an international team, which is also a new impulse as I always have been riding for a Dutch team. Within my new team I will catch up with Mieke Kröger, who I know from my time at Futurumshop. The sports management has a lot of confidence in me and I have a lot of confidence in sports director Carmen Small and the whole team. I am really looking forward to work with them.”
Dutch start
Koster started her cycling career at the Dutch club team WV Otto Ebbens. From there she went to Boels-Dolmans en Futurumshop.nl. “Then I got the chance to ride for Rabo-Liv (later it changed names to WM3 Energie and WaowDeals). That was the next step where I was looking for at that moment. I got the chance to grow and be part of one of the best teams in the women`s cycling peloton. I tried to learn as much as possible from all the top riders. After 4 years with this team I am ready for a new challenge. Of course I am very grateful to my current team for all the possibilities and experiences during the last 4 years”, Koster concluded.
